Summer 2016 Newsletter to Friends

Three excellent programmes deserve special mention.  If ever we needed examples of investing for the future, Seva Mandir’s Residential School Programme, its Empowering Youth Programme, and its Developing Women Leaders Programme are extraordinary examples.

RESIDENTIAL SCHOOLsummer_1

On 5 May 2016, 154 children aged between 6 and 14 joined Seva Mandir’s learning camp for their third and final semester.  Some 86 girls and 68 boys from 18 villages attended the camp, this gateway to a very different life for the wonderful children.

EMPOWERING YOUTH FOR A MORE JUST SOCIETY

In the diverse and remote communisummer_2ties of rural Rajasthan, Seva Mandir’s work to identify, inform, and give responsibility to teenagers is immensely empowering.  Dealing with sexual health, skills training, sports participation, and career counselling, over 400 young men and women saw windows into life that could never have been possible without Seva Mandir.
