Three excellent programmes deserve special mention. If ever we needed examples of investing for the future, Seva Mandir’s Residential School Programme, its Empowering Youth Programme, and its Developing Women Leaders Programme are extraordinary examples.
On 5 May 2016, 154 children aged between 6 and 14 joined Seva Mandir’s learning camp for their third and final semester. Some 86 girls and 68 boys from 18 villages attended the camp, this gateway to a very different life for the wonderful children.
EMPOWERING YOUTH FOR A MORE JUST SOCIETY
In the diverse and remote communities of rural Rajasthan, Seva Mandir’s work to identify, inform, and give responsibility to teenagers is immensely empowering. Dealing with sexual health, skills training, sports participation, and career counselling, over 400 young men and women saw windows into life that could never have been possible without Seva Mandir.
THE ROLE OF WOMEN LEADERS
Give women a voice and you give villages a future. It begins with women helping women, but over time it becomes women helping life.
